the cut-out phenomena

it’s amazing to me the amount of popularity that cut-outs are making in the art world- seems to harbor almost no talent besides precision and, perhaps, vision— but mostly these cut-out artists are just using the phenomena as an excuse for laziness in coming up with a real concept. they are all literally mirror images of eachother. c’mon artists! where is your individuality?! use the idea in a new and exciting way! i’m getting bored..

“you’re kind, you can take a joke (most of the time), you have too much talent, you’re flawless, you’re gorgeous, you can cut hair, you have style, you are pretty confident (for the most part), you take advice from people whether you use it or not, you listen, you care, you don’t have an over abundant ego, you listen to real music & you know what real music is, and you make hearts with a keyboard & you make better hearts than anyone else.” —KG

My Silent Undoing Queen Adreena

my silent undoing
my wasp in a jar
protruding hips
and skull, and spine
ribcage cuts a clear outline
all roped up and pinching in
distorted and disfiguring
my silent undoing
my wasp in a jar
no photographs around the back
emaciated, iron flat
dehydrated cutting bones
today i’m over 7 stone
my wasp in a jar

the bass line fills me, taking place of my spine and feeding through my nerves… and I can feel it, like fire; like power.

“Creation is always happening. Every time an individual has a thought, or a prolonged chronic way of thinking, they’re in the creation process. Something is going to manifest out of those thoughts. What you are thinking now is creating your future life. You create your life with your thoughts. Because you are always thinking, you are always creating. What you think about the most or focus on the most, is what will appear as your life. Like all laws of nature, there is utter perfection in this law. You create your life. Whatever you sow, you reap! Your thoughts are seeds, and the harvest you reap will depend on the seeds you plant.” —Michael Beckwith

AHEM,

(the guy who originally posted this is here. and this is what he posted. Here is hannahkarina ‘s response, which I must applaud:)

-The desicion to exclude women from drafts was introduced by MEN, as the idea back in the days of the draft was that women had to stay home, not because they were weaker, but because women are the child bearers and if lots of men over 18 died in the war, women would need to be there to make more men. Thousands of women willingly sign up for armed forces, and yet again MEN keep them from seeing front-line combat for the most part. MEN enforce a less strenuous Physical Test for women in order to join the military. There’s plenty of women who would be willing to train to be physically fit enough to work alongside men, but men keep telling women “you are too weak.” Men do not give women the ability to become stronger. Women are just as capable of making their bodies as strong as men.

-Women continually test as high or higher than men in logic. The reason women were not allowed to vote is because men did not allow women to become educated. Once women became educated, they tested just as well as men on IQ scores and logical thinking tests. Teen girls also continuously have higher GPAs than teen boys, yet girls are more likely to get ignored by teachers, especially male teachers.

-Women have no primal instinct towards inferiority. Men have made women inferior. Many primitive and primal tribes have women warriors, women leaders, shamans, etc. Primitive tribes respect women far more than advanced civilizations. The only reason men became so powerful was when land ownership became a part of life. Men could only guarantee they passed on their land to their sons if they kept their women in check and made sure they weren’t procreating with anyone else.

- Noteworthy modern items we know were invented by women: Mary Anderson invented the Windshield Wiper. Patricia Billings invented Geobond, a substance used to replace the very toxic Asbestos. Dr. Grace Murray Hopper lead the development of COBOL, the first user-friendly computer software, which paved the way for the likes of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs to invent their OSes. It should be noted that it takes a lot of logic to work with computer programming that isn’t user-friendly. Dr. Giuliana Tesoro held over 125 patents relating to the field of organic compounds and textiles. Not to mention Marie Curie, who not only coined the term “radioactive,” she also won two Nobel Prizes, one in physics and one in chemistry. Marie Curies is responsible for many medical breakthroughs relating to radiation, and paved the way for x-rays. Women have invented quite a bit of modern conviniences and products that both men and women use today.

- The “building blocks of society” were not created, but discovered and developed. Men and women had hands in all of it, including mathematics, medicine, philosophy, and politics. Many women have been leaders behind-the-scenes, directing the men who were the “leaders” in what they should do. Alexander the Great’s mother is one such woman. Cleopatra almost brought down an entire nation, manipulating powerful men to do what she wished. In ancient civilizations, women could be and often were just as powerful as men.

Men were the ones who began to gradually take away that power from women, and it has taken hundreds of years just to get where women are now, all because men have some sense of superiority over women. Women do not want to be superior to men, they just want equality.

People can be superior to other people, regardless of gender.

And don’t forget, men and women, you are only walking on this planet because a man impregnated a woman, and she gave birth to you. It takes two to make a human, and one gender should not have advantages over another.
